Bitcoin Brand Identity Guidelines

An open design brand identity guideline and asset directory to help builders use the most universally accepted Bitcoin Brand Identity.

Because Bitcoin operates without a central authority, there is no official symbol or logo that universally represents it.

Open Source development governed by the Bitcoin community dictates the future of the Bitcoin network and similarly, its brand identity is governed by Open Design.

Open design is a collaborative approach where designs are shared freely with the public. It encourages transparency, creativity, and innovation by allowing anyone to contribute, modify, or use designs without restrictive ownership. This method fosters collective improvement, making designs more accessible and adaptable to diverse needs.

While there is no official identity, in 2010 Bitboy submitted the orange logomark to the Bitcointalk forum that we have all come to know and use.

This brand identity guideline is here to help designers, marketers, and developers have access to a practical and reliable source of truth for what is considered the most universally accepted Bitcoin Brand Identity.

I have taken these colors from the Bitcoin.org site.

Not sure really if all these colors are part of the brand identity. There were some more shades of Grey, but seemed very similar to each other so I have selected the one I thought worked best.

I'd love to hear from the community about how we can improve and have a consensus on the color pallet. I also named the colors myself and am more than happy to hear from others if we can have some better suggestions as I did it quite quickly.

The Blue color is used for links on their site. I think it's pretty cool to have an accent color attributed to Bitcoin as you normally never see this.

These Typefaces have also been taken from the Bitcoin.org site. I have never seen them used elsewhere around Bitcoin. But it makes sense to me that if the official site is using them, that they would be part of the brand identity.
